Advocate Rebaone (Rebs/ Reba) Gaoraelwe is a specialist in public sector corporate governance, corporate legal services, legislative review and compliance, public finance, SoE performance monitoring, oversight and ownership and management. He holds an LLM Degree from the University of Pretoria, a Higher Diploma in Company law from Wits University, LLB& B.Proc Degrees from the University of Natal (UKZN) and a Certificate in Public Sector Governance& Strategy from UNISA’s School of Business Leadership.
He for many years worked at senior management level for the National Department of Public Enterprises in the Governance and Legislative Compliance and Oversight Unit, where his role was to exercise oversight and monitoring over major state-owned entities(SoEs) such as Eskom, Transnet, SAA, SA Express, Denel, SAFCOL, Alexkor, PBMR and INFRACO. He, from 2008, through his consulting company Mukalaha Governance& Legal Solutions, which is based in Centurion, Pretoria, has rendered/ is rendering practical consulting and advisory work on governance/ company secretariat, corporate legal services, legislative compliance and related services to Provincial and National Government Departments and various public entities/ SoEs and other entities, including Government Departments.
He also sits on the Board of Mukalaha Holdings, the Appeal Board of the SA Institute for Drug-Free Sport as well as on the Council of Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) (including its Audit and Risk Committee as well as its Governance Committee.
Adv. Gaoraelwe is a family man, married with four children. He is a consummate reader, an avid runner (with highlights being the 2012 Comrades Marathon) and an ardent classical music enthusiast and collector.
